Who originally played the theme from Jurassic Park on the movie?
I know that it's from John Williams, but who played it on the movie/DVD, was it the Hollywood Symphony Orchestra?
I see from the MP3 Downloads on Amazon that John Williams has a download that is 5 minutes and 21 seconds, whereas the Hollywood Symphony Orchestra's is only 2 minutes and 12 seconds .
I see that John Williams was also using The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra for some of his stuff...
So which Orchestra is playing this on the original soundtrack and if it is the Hollywood Symphony, why is it shorter ?( time allowed on the movie?)
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the all of the info, everyone
Thanks Dave, it's good to know that Scott Harris was doing clarinet on this,
but, what I'm looking for is the orchestra or group that played this on the original soundtrack/movie and not an individual playing one of the instruments...
Thanks again.

Probably an orchestra of "contractor calls up a bunch of local players who form an orchestra in the studio the day of the recording." Unless the movie soundtrack specifies a particular orchestra, this is likely the case.
