I'm working on a the last movement of the concert0 (very carefully) and some of the altissimo passages are a bit hard to keep smooth and in tune. Some fingering suggestions for the third movement including:
measures: 82-83, 197-198 and measure 239.
Any help would be appreciated!

I played it recently, but the score is not in front of me at the moment. If I will see it I promise I will help if I can. This may take 2 days. Which notes are problematic?

I'm not home right now but I have a fingering chart of the altissimo register on my website that might give you some ideas, check it out. ESP http://eddiesclarinet.com

If you have a camera phone, perhaps you should snap some pictures of the specific measures in question (not the whole thing--just the particular measures) and upload them here. I'm sure there are folks on the BBoard who will have some good ideas, even if they haven't played the piece or don't have the score in front of them.

What is the problem with the main fingerings? I heard this by Ottensamer on a recording. With german system it's even more difficult and still sounds good. Main fingerings should work with regular Boehm.

I'm working it out. It's amazing though. With Weber and such it is really not too difficult to put it together. This piece is a different story.

I've never played this piece, but here's what I'd probably use for the chromatic run:
for F#:
RT o x o | o o o (plus RH venting to bring the pitch up, of course--I generally use the RH sliver key for this)
G:
RT o x o Eb/Bb SK | o o o (+ vent)
Ab:
RT o o o Eb/Bb SK | o o o (+ vent)
A:
RT o x x | o o o RH F#/C# (you could use your usual RH vent instead of F#/C# here--one book I have recommends that for a chromatic run like this--but I find the F#/C# to be more secure. I'd use the RH one here so your left pinky is free for the next fingering)
Bb:
RT Ab o x x C#/G# | o o o RH F#/C#

Thanks guys! I think there is good reason why this concerto isn't performed in its entirety live often.
