I just purchased a Leblanc LL b flat to replace my ca 1972 Noblet. Both play like a dream and I am at a loss to detect a substantial tone or playability difference between the two. Of course my playing "ain't what it used to be" but where may I, over time expect to see an advantage in the LL? Again, both play very nicely and are capable of excellent tone. Perhaps I just lucked out with the cheaper Noblet, and got a particularly good one. At any rate I can now not bring myself to sell it.
If anyone has expertise or experience with either of these I'd appreciate hearing from them.

I,m certainly no expert but have some experience with both of those kinds of clarinets. Check intonation and 12ths to see which is better for you. Also do some barrell swapping and listen to how that changes how you sound. If you can record your playing on each of them you'll get to hear if one or the other helps make the sound that you want.

I've been tuning the Noblet (for duets) with a short barrell--have found it less necessary for the LL, though. Have also been trying different mouthpieces, and actually have been having the best luck with the stock Leblanc 2.4. I do have a Vandoren B45 around here somewhere and will give this a try.
Still-I'm struck by the similarity in feel and tone between the two, and barring a revelation of some sort am quite happy with both.
---Any other comments on these two instruments out there?

I have not played the Noblet but I own a LL and an LX and the LL is more free blowing/less resistant than the LX. Maybe because of the larger bore: 14.80 mm vs. 14.60. I play mostly jazz so I use the free blowing LL as my no. 1 horn and the LX as backup. The LL is a great horn.

Why sell the noblet? If you like the horn you should keep it as a backup. I have three horns and play each every third day.
