 HARD RUBBER CLARINETS
Author: dennyk1024

I JUST PURCHASED TWO ALLORA CLARINETS ...ONE IN Bb AND ONE IN C. I BELIEVE THAT THESE ARE THE SAME HORNS AS THE RIDENOUR CLARINETS.
MY REASON FOR THE PURCHASE WAS TO HAVE A BACK-UP FOR MY LEBLANC CONCERTO AND MY R-13 IN C WHEN I GO ON THE ROAD.

I MUST SAY THAT I'M IMPRESSED!!!! BOTH HAVE GREAT HARDWARE AND PLAY PRETTY WELL IN TUNE.

I'M CURIOUS AS TO WHAT SOME OTHER MEMBERS THINK.

Allora clarinets were made originally by Tom Ridenour. They are predecessors to the Lyriques of today.

Denny , would you please stop SHOUTING :)

Ebonite, or hard rubber is an excellent material for making clarinets out of so long as they are well made like the Lyrique.

My understanding is that the Allora clarinets were designed by Tom Ridenour but were actually fabricated in China to his specifications.

Looking back, it may have been Arioso Clarrinets that Tom was involved with the manufacture of. Built to his specs and he may have hand finished them.
