Please forgive the slight off-subject post but can't seem to get email to Bob. If your out there Bob, shoot me a line - ole Dameon keeps sending your mail back tome. "Return to Sender", can that be played effectively on the CL?

Why yes, "Return to Sender" <b>can</b> be played effectively on a clarinet. I just gave it a whirl (words & music by Otis Blackwell - Winfield Scott, sung and made famous by <b>The King</b>, Elvis) :
I gave a letter to the postman,
he put it his sack.
But in early next morning,
he brought my letter back.
She wrote upon it:
Return to sender, address unknown.
No such number, no such zone.
We had a quarrel, a lover's spat
I write I'm sorry but my letter keeps coming back.
So then I dropped it in the mailbox
And sent it special D.
But in early next morning
it came right back to me.
She wrote upon it:
Return to sender, address unknown.
No such number, no such zone.
This time I'm gonna take it myself
and put it right in her hand.
And if it comes back the very next day
then I'll understand the writing on it

That *was* when we used poatal zones instead of zip codes wasn't it? I had almost forgotten.
Mark, I'm not *there* yet - can't do them by ear. I recently transposed (is that an appropriate word?) "Silent Night" down four lines (and here again I have no idea if this is proper) so I could get it below where I need to use the register key - since the only keys I know are G & F.
It doesn't sound too aufull if I'm the only one listening. This morning I transposed "Frosty the Snow Man" down three lines and I am getting ready to try it. We are haveing our Xmas gathering today because the kids were being entertained by their in-laws last week. I was hoping to be able to play the Frosty gig by today so that my 9 year old grand daughter could sing along (she recently sang this in a recital). However, don't think I will make it by this afternoon but wetting the reed now to start practicing.

Hey Mark --- I thought Louis was King!!!!!! Shows my age I guess, but Louis WAS first, and even Elvis drew from his influence. Hope Jerry's reed cooperates -- just sent him an e-mail, so trust he's working towards that duet with his grandaughter with alacrity!!! Happy New Year All!!!!!!
