I went to the store yesterday and tried out some Vandoren mouthpieces. I definitely liked the M13 best, but I was not fond of the "Profile 88" style (and it does not come with the "traditional" option).
Are there any mouthpieces out there that are nearly identical to the M13 but have a more traditional-style beak?
Also, for those with experience in changing beak styles, do you get used to it quickly? Did you not like it at first?

Good mouthpiece guys that work on facings can most likely adjust the beak.
I've found the M13's to be slightly too bright sounding so I do work on the chamber, just behind the tip and wow, do they ever sound great. I'd put that sound equal to or better than the Cheds and Kaspers.
The mouthpiece bore is off a bit so you will experience in some cases some notes going flat on you.

Something tells me that would cost almost as much as the mouthpiece itself...if not more...

This link might help you http://www.clarinetperfection.com/clmpcVandoren.htm
They have a copy of vandomag2us.pdf there as well which has a whole section on their mpcs.
You might find that the M15 is similar.

A lot of people email me off this board site with questions. I can go into great detail how adjusting the M13 mouthpieces can make a huge difference.

I like the M13 quite a bit as well and also find good things about the Eddie Daniels #1 and the Genusa (double star?).
As for the beak, this would either encourage you to take in more mouthpieces (which should NOT be an arbitrary point mind you) or mantain a smaller openning of your embouchure.
The 5RV Lyre is not too far from the M13 either and IS available in Traditional AND (for my ears) the "better pitched" NON 13 Series.

I've played on an M13-Lyre for several years with very good results. As much as I like the mouthpiece, the beak is uncomfortable for me as well. I have a Clark Fobes as a back up and even though I can't make it sound good at lower dynamic levels, it's beak is still much more comfortable.
Mr. Bernardo - What kind of changes do you usually make to M13s? Feel free to email me offline if you want to get more detailed.

Clark Fobes mouthpieces (especially the CF+) are very similar. They are excellent mouthpieces.
