I'm looking into buying a new alto sax, tenor sax, and flute. I'm not quite familiar with brands concerning those instruments and I was wondering what I should get. I'm looking for models and brands that are not too out of the budget but comparable to what the R13 is for clarinet. Professional models but again not too high up there. Any ideas?

You can't go wrong with Yamaha 62 saxes and a 311 flute - new or used.

If you want to buy a new alto and tenor sax that's comparable to a good pro level clarinet, then expect to spend some money.
You didn't put out a price range to explain what would be "too high," so I'll start by giving you two of the greats for alto and tenor.
Others will be able to chime in on many more models I'm sure.
If you can afford these, you can't go wrong...
Alto - Selmer Reference 54 (model 72)
Tenor - Selmer Reference 54 ( model 74).
There are many models and many opinions as to what is best, etc.
But these two are a good reference!
You may just want to go to this web site and contact Dave Kessler and company and tell them what your budget is and what you are looking for.
They will not rip you off and they set up each of their instruments for free before shipping them out.

Check out Phil Barone saxes - one of my students just got one and it plays very well and comes with a usable mouthpiece and sax shaped case. Flutes I would try Sonare and Trevor James (or if you'r a strong player, to find an old soldered tonehole closed hole Haynes which are a 440 scale unlike the extruded tonehole flutes which were 435).

I've also heard good things about Kessler's own brand of saxophones. Check the saxontheweb.net forums for information about them.
Flutes...
I like Amadeus's and DiZhao's line of flutes. I've played both, and they worked wonderfully. DiZhao used to work for Powell and Haynes and help set up both of their factories in China. For 2500, you can get the body to have all the frills (C# trill, D# roller, split E) and get the gold riser on both flutes.
I haven't gotten a chance to play both side by side, and probably won't be able to until I get the money to buy one of them.
