 Moldy Reeds
Author: Zaciscooll158

Ever since I started using the protec reed case, my reeds have become moldy. I never used to have a problem with it before I started using the case. I've disinfected the reed case numerous times with hydrogen peroxide, and whenever a reed starts growing mold i soak it in hydrogen peroxide. This will usually stop the growth for a while, but it usually ends up coming back eventually. However, I have some reeds that I've had in the case since I bought it that remain mold-free. Any tips on stopping the moldy onslaught? My money is flying out the window, and any help would be great.

Since the problem began when you started using the protec reed case, maybe you should stop using the protec reed case.

Do you put your reeds in the case wet?

Whenever a reed starts growing mold, discard it immediately.
