what are some GOOD clarinet quartet christmas charts?

Its about time to start ordering music to get it in, rehearse, and be able to perform some clarinet quartet Christmas tunes.

Anyone have suggestions? Good would mean crowd pleasers. We like a challenge and wont shy away from it, but ultimately its to put smiles on the faces of our audience. Our audience will be varied, mostly families. Some stuff the children would like would be nice too.

Also, I'm going to get a hold of a church hymnal and we'll play a few traditional hymns from there. Too easy since its already in four part harmony. Just need to transpose the bass clef to treble.

And I'm looking for either 4 Bb's, or 3 Bb and 1 bass. Thank you.

Alexi

I have this problem every year. Even harder to find are really good arrangements for clarinet and piano or organ. Last year I tried Linear the Chrismas Setting for clarinet quartet has four carols. It's under Holiday music. There are also several other Christmas settings that are way more fun to play and interesting to listen to that a hymn in four parts.

Ben,

Thanks for that site. Takes some time off my hands having to transcribe hymnals. I'll check out those other charts, clarinetcase.

I've not had occasion to put together a clarinet quartet lately, but I'd look at the Kendor catalog for arrangements by Niehaus (and others) and Bill Holcombe's arrangements.

I've always liked Bill Holcombe's stuff. And the one Niehaus thing we have is pretty cool too.

I have written a few carol arrangements for clarinet choir, if that's at all helpful. The smallest is 5-part.
