I just ordered David Etheridge's book "Clarinet for Dummies" on Amazon.

Wasn't aware that it had released already.

Oh, it's a book? Isn't there a clarinet that won't let you play the wrong notes? Oh, that's a car... it will parallel park for you and let you know when someone's in your blind spots.

But then if such a clarinet existed we'd probably have to plug it in... not good for blackouts.

It looks interesting. His other books are very good.

David Etheridge's book "Clarinet For Dummies" was released on August 9.

I was honored to have worked with Dave on the proof reading of all the chapters, musical examples, excerpts and fingering charts. Some of my musical suggestions even made it into the final printing :)

There is a lot of very fine information in the book which will not only benefit the casual player but also the advanced performer. All of Dave's teaching concepts are clearly described with text, photos, musical examples and an accompanying CD.

Sadly, Dave is no longer with us, but this book is clearly the culmination of a lifetime of teaching experience and pedagogical ideas and I was happy to be a small part of it.

[ Disclaimer - I received no remuneration for my work on the book. Dave and Cheryl's thanks to me was more than enough ]

So sad that he could not have seen it hit the racks.
