Just my thoughts: "verse" is where the words or music changes each time around; "chorus" is the section that the verse leads to and is always the same. It is the repeated section between eacn of the verses. Lots of hymns are written this way. Merry Christmas and good clarineting.

William is correct. Musicians usually solo during the chorus section (improvise) and it can be of an indeterminate length depending on the number of musicians that want to solo. It can also have a "call" and "response" format whereas a soloist improvises or plays part of the chorus and the rest of the ensemble repeats what the soloist played. Hope this helps.
