Slightly OT - Paul Desmond's Story of a Speeding Ticket
Author: Ken Shaw 2017
Date:   2010-08-04 11:26

Many years ago, I read that Paul Desmond strung together short phrases of various tunes to describe how he got a speeding ticket -- Ain't Misbehavin' and the like.

Dave Brubeck tells the story in a video at http://digitalcollections.pacific.edu/cdm4/item_viewer.php?CISOROOT=/brubeckoral&CISOPTR=18&CISOBOX=1&REC=17.

Does anyone know whether it was recorded?

I've put up a query on SOTW, but no one has responded.

Given the current copyright madness, could it legally be done today?

Ken Shaw

LOL--thanks for the posting. I guess he also could have quoted Commander Cody's, "Hot Rod Lincoln".
