 Silver Clarinet

i was wondering if there was such a thing as a Silver plated Clarinet. I have always wanted a silver clarinet... but there is really no point in gettign one because they sound bad.

Yes there were silver plated clarinets. They stopped making metal clarinets however back in the 1940s or 1950s. Who says they sound bad? Have you ever heard one that has been properly maintained and played by an expert with a good reed and mouthpiece?

Unfortunately the great majority of ones available today were allowed to deteriorate quite badly.

I've got a Silver King (HN White Co.) from the 30's which plays, sounds, and looks great. I got it on eBay and restored it as a home project. The show up there from time to time for $50-$100.
