First of all, I love my Hawkins Eb mouthpiece. it's beautiful, in tune --- However, we just played El Salon Mexico this weekend, and the night before the gig, I was forced to ask friends for mouthpieces and ligatures to try and get a larger, brighter, edgier sound, more characteristic for El Salon. I ended up using a friend's old Pyne, and a BG revelation ligature, and liked the result.
Does anyone know where to find these things?? Someone mentioned seeing some on Ebay, but that seems like buying a lottery ticket.

i don't know much about the pyne but if you are looking for a brighter, more powerful sound, try the morgan. I ordered two at one time and geez the sound was powerful, though that wasn't what i was looking for at the time. it's definitely worth a try though, just order it on wwbw and you can return them if you don't like them.

Thanks for the hint. Was the intonation okay? The nice thing about the Pyne was that it was loud and in tune.
I'll keep it in mind!
