The site says the arrangement (presumably the variations) is by Sun Kim. There are some 20th (or must I now say 21st?) century harmonic touches. Also, the piece is atypcial in calling for a virtuoso pianist. Some of the variations in part 2 are almost all piano.
Han Kim has matured tremendously. He's not just a prodigy any more, but an artist. I can hardly wait to hear what he'll do next.

He impresses me as a hot house child prodigy being rushed by his handlers. His onstage dance steps are really annoying. In the statement of the simple melody he found it necessary to swing his clarinet and body in a goofy gyration.
In a recent clarinet contest in China he was given honorable mention for his youth. Maybe he'll come out alright...let's hope so.
