WOW--I don't know who to compliment, Kal for teaching you to play so wonderfully, or just *you*. Nevertheless, a great tribute for a truely great clarinet mentor and player--and, btw, played great.

OH, Wow, Tom!
That is gorgeous, and what tone quality you have developed.
Thank you.

Tom -
I can't find the link to Un Seul on your MySpace page. Do I have to join MySpace to listen to it? Or could you give a direct link?
Thanks.

Ken,
If you go to that link, it should show up on the right hand side of the page.
It shows: Piercy Plays Opperman "Un Seul"
It's the top/first selection of 9.
It should start playing immediately; if not, press play.
If that doesn't work for you, let me know.
Thanks, Tom

And many thanks for the other comments above.
---------------------------------------------
Kal and I worked extensively on "Un Seul" once he knew I was giving the NYC and Asia premieres of it.
Although very precise and demanding in what he wanted and what he didn't want in the interpretation, he generously allowed me to bring a lot of my own ideas to the piece.
The piece may look a little "dry" or simple on paper, but it really came to life after working on all the subtleties - whether explicit or implied in the manuscript.
As usual, it was great to work with the composer of a piece.
He was very touched by the Tokyo performance, especially the long pause before the audience applauded; that was exactly the effect he wanted "Un Seul" to have on people.

Ken (and Tom) - on my Mac, this link works in Firefox but not in Safari. Don't know why, but I have this problem occasionally.
Hope this helps.
