I just received a Concerto for trial. It came with two barrels. Is this the way it comes, or did an extra barrel get included by mistake?
Also, some of the keys appear "stiff", e.g., the A key. Is this something that could be adjusted by a tech in the future, and is "stiffness" a personal preference "thing"?

When I picked my Concertos out at the factory, T. Ridenour didnt offer me an extra barrel--seems like you lucked out. As far as "stiffness," even a new car has to be broken in. My clarinets took quite a while to loosen up. However, if they don't improve, that is something that any competent techperson can adjust. Don't worry about it, just enjoy the wonderful LeBlanc Concerto (and its extra barrel). Good clarineting.

The stiffness is probably because of the new springs. In time, they will feel comfortable to you.
Sometimes, manufacturers send two barrels-a 66 mm and 65 mm for tuning. Try each one to see which one tunes best with your horn.

The Leblanc Concerto is a pro horn. I am not surprised that it was accompanied by 2 barrels. The Buffet Festivals, Leblanc Opus I have seen have 2 barrels & as do many other pro level horns. I think that manufacturers are getting smarter all the time & trying to give a little bit more bang for the buck here & there, when they can. Sometimes, the retailer is providing an upgrade of sorts, too.
