On 10 June Daniel Ottensamer won the audition for principal clarinet in the Berlin Philharmonic. His family is already well known in the clarinet world with his father as principal clarinetist of the Vienna Phil and his brother principal in the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester. All the best to Daniel in his new job!

"Actually, Andreas Ottensamer won the job, not Daniel."
Oops! Sorry about that misunderstanding! Thanks for correcting me srattle.
(Anyone by the name of srattle should know what's going on in the Berlin Phil :-))
David- in Berlin they have two principal players for every wind instrument. Wenzel Fuchs is still principal clarinet. This is the old job of Karl-Heinz Steffens. Before Steffens it was the job of Karl Leister.
