Quick question:
If I bring my clarinet, will there be someone there who can do simple repairs while I wait? My keys are a little clanky and I just want things tightened up. Possible? Or should I leave the clarinet at home?

Francois Kloc is almost always there along with an assistant to make basic repairs and adjustments on Buffets. Tom Ridenour is usually there and will probably be able to adjust his instruments. Steve Fox will do the basics on his instruments.
Unless policies at Leblanc have changed, I wouldn't expect any repairs (or even basic information) from them. I'm not sure about Selmer or Yamaha. Independent technicians, such as Tim Clark, have occasionally had displays, and the mouthpiece and barrel makers will certainly touch up or adjust their products.

My experience has been that Selmer does not really have any repair support at ClarinetFest - but I've only been to one.

About 10 years ago at Clarinetfest, Tom Fritz (I'm not sure what booth he was working in at the time) spent about an hour on my best R13 (which I had thought was playing perfectly) reseating some pads and making small adjustments. I was amazed at the difference and how well the horn played when he was finished.
He did it all as a courtesy and refused to take any payment for his time and expertise.
A true gentleman...

Hello,
Definitely take your instrument. Most any repairman there will work on any clarinet and, if the job is relatively small, will charge nothing or next to nothing.

FWIW, Yamaha had a remarkable tech at their booth in Kansas City doing free work on Yamaha instruments. I did not catch his name.
