Toughie!
I spent weeks looking for his Concertino -even knowing the publisher!
Recently Gary Van Cott (http://www.vcisinc.com/)
Turned up a piece or two by Camilleri, so may have a handle on it.
I think the Divertimento for 2 clarinets and piano is his Divertimento #1, his #2 is for solo clarinet and piano.
Please let us know when you find it.

I looked at Van Cott's when I saw this thread, but could only find his piece Tibet which I just received from Gary.

I sent an email to Gary Van Cott and he was able to find (amazingly fast) the Divertimento #2 which is a print on demand item from Novello. He said this means it would probably take a couple months to get. The list price is $52.50. He didn't have luck with Divertimento #1 yet but...the search is on.

Years ago Charles was composer in residence at the Royal Hamilton College of Music. I worked a bit on his Fantasie for sax. He sure liked complex rhythms!. Is he still alive? Where is he?

I don't see the (first) Divertimento for Clarinet and Piano at Howarth.
AND
I'm left confused by the listing for the 2nd Divertimento being for clarinet (one) and piano rather than being for 2 clarinets and piano.
I did get the Camilleri Concertino from them with great service.

He had only composed Divertimento No. 2 for clarinet and piano, not anything for 2 clarinets and piano from what I can find out.

I actually just heard the Divertimento No. 1 performed last week, so yes it does exist! The full title is "Divertimento No. 1 Homage a'Manuel de Falla" and it is a delightful 3 movement work that really brought the house down at the recital. Jared David and Ralph Skiano from the Richmond Symphony performed it, and they are also performing it at the OU Clarinet Symposium tomorrow I believe. Ralph said the music was almost impossible to retrieve, and he ended up having to contact the italian clarinetists that put out the only recording of the work in order to get the music. So I would contact Ralph or Jared and I am sure they can point you in the right direction, and maybe someone can actually publish the piece eventually!

Hi Donny - I posted the question because I found the first Divertimento at this site http://www.leonarda.com/compce.html. In the composer biography there is information and a sample of the first and third movements. In addition to the Italian recording there is one with David Campbell that I found on iTunes. I sent an email to David Campbell to see if he had any information.

Thanks for the link to the works of Camilleri.
I had guessed that, if there is a Divertimento No. 2, then there'd have to be a No. 1.
Camilleri seems to be a good candidate for the un-copyrighted download sites to take up, as his publications seem to be rare.
