I can't remember exactly, but IIRC, the b was the basic Bb version a year or two ago, and the bc was more of what Tom considered his "custom" line with more hand finishing and finer detail work, hand undercutting, etc. He doesn't offer the b model any more.

LeonardA , I checked Tom Ridenour's site and I don't see the b model listed anywhere. Only the 546 and the 576bc

I believe the 576BC has a revised polycylindrical bore versus the 576B.

Barry, you are correct. No morre 576.B. The 546 is a plastic body with rubber barrel.

I think you mean what's the difference between the 576-BC and the 146. The 576-BC is a professional, or more advanced model (if you don't want to acknowledge that it's a professional clarinet), and the 146 is a student model. They're both great clarinets depending on your level of playing.

SantiandCo, the question was the difference between the 576b and 576bc. It appears that the bc was the customized version of the b from what I can tell.
