Has anybody ever used the Jody Jazz Classic mouthpiece in a classical setting? I just grauated from high school and I figured that I could march with the spoiler but use no spoiler during concert band in college. Either that or I could march with my old mpc.
Either way, I was wondering if anybody experimented with this piece in a "non-jazz" setting. I've been constantly researching, and I feel like this mouthpiece could be what I've been looking for. My other choice is the Fobes CF+ Nova.
At $127, the Jody Jazz Classic seems perfect for me. Let me know what guys think.

Edit: scratch the part about marching. I'm only concerned about the mouthpiece in concert or solo settings.

NEVER march with your good mouthpiece. Marching band is rather non-musical. and it would be a pity to lose a quality mouthpiece to a marching accident. For the same reason, never march with a concert quality clarinet. Use one you won't lament if it gets destroyed.

What makes you think this mouthpiece is "the one"? Have you played it? Play-testing is really what should make your decision about a mouthpiece.
And I wouldn't put too much stock in the fact that it's named "Jody Jazz"; according to their website, they make some rather closed facings which they specifically say are best for "classical" settings. And anyway, if you are able to produce a tone you like for that type of music, who cares whether it was "intended" for jazz or not?

I know of someone that swears by it in ALL settings. This fellow does a lot of doubling, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but he has a decent sound on clarinet.

I've been marching for about 13 years(about at least 5-10 times a year) and I always use my regular mouthpiece. Also nobody in my marching band through the years have used other than their regular mouthpiece. We've played in all kinds of wether(rain,very windy,frost,snow and just name it) and I don't remember about single mouthpiece accident all those years.
I have seen more accident in the rehearsal room than outside marching.
