 Spohr's concertos

Hello all
I'm a 15 years old french, and I play clarinet since 8 years.
A year ago, I discovered Ludwig Spohr's concertos thanks to a Karl Leister's recording, unfortunately with only the first and the fourth of them.
I really liked it, and I bought the first concerto. Needless to say, I was a bit amazed by some *difficult* (for me ;-) passages, but I worked on it and it improved my technique a lot. There are still loads of stuffs which I need play slower, but I liked this concerto very much.
Two months ago, I bought the second concerto, and the technique required is really more than mine. Yet, I thought it was still pretty, but I wanted to listen to a recording to have the real version. I found only an "Otensammer"'s (Not sure of the spelling) one, with the Bratislava orchestra. A friend of mine had just bought it (after he listened to Kerl Leister's 1st concerto recording), and I listened to it.
I do not want to denigrate a clarinettist whose technique is obviously better than mine, but perhaps because of the recording itself, the difficulty of making the concerto sound musical, I really didn't like the 2nd concerto at all.
Thus, I'd like to know if someone here know good recordings of the 2nd and 3d concertos. The Karl Leister CD is really great, it's sad he didn't record the 2nd and 3d (or did he?).
Thanks in advance
Jonathan

Spohr was a violinist who wrote the concertos for Simon Hermstedt, one of the leading virtuousos of the time. They are notoriously difficult, so congratulations on making progress with them. I assume you mean the Ottensamer recordings on the Naxos label. I like them a lot. I also appreciate the fact that Naxos brings me a lot of music I might not otherwise have heard at a price I can afford. Ditto for the Swedish BIS label, which has some marvellous Crusell recordings. On another subject, are you in the Paris area? If so, you might like to contact me via e-mail.

Leister recorded all four concertos with the Stuttgart Radio Orchestra. They are on the Orfeo label. All four are phenomenal. The Third just blew me away, his playing is so perfect. I met him a few years ago and told him I was working on the third. He said his favorite was the second. Anyway, you can probably get them from Amazon.com.

Beejay,

I think e-mail is useful for anyone living on Planet Earth - it's not really specific to Paris. If you're both in the Paris area, perhaps an old fashioned telephone call or letter would be more appropriate - or perhaps a meeting at some small cafe in a convenient arrondisement. Just be sure that there is adequate parental supervision.
Bon chance!

Larry,
I hang out my shingle on e-mail in the hope of finding anyone who would like to play Mozart K487 with me. Simple as that.
