 Thanks for Backun tip

A couple of months ago, I posted about my very vintage Selmer A that played badly and seemed to need new ring keys, which were very worn. My local shop couldn't find replacement parts and I didn't know what to do. Someone on the list recommended sending it to Backun. I contacted them and they said they might have the parts. I sent the horn and after a few weeks, they told me that they could not find any to match.

I was at the point of despair, and without the money for a new A clarinet. Then they told me that actually, the ring keys weren't the problem. It was the pads that were new but put on terribly (by the person I bought the horn from on eBay, I guess). To make a long story short, I had them to do a full pad job and they did a fantastic job. Together with a Backun bell, which I got a good deal on, their work has made the horn play WAY, WAY better and far more in tune. The ring keys are still worn, but they don't seem to matter. I feel like I have a new horn. Diane Burke, Morrie and the rest of them do fine work.

thanks to whoever made the suggestion.
