I recently heard from Clark Fobes that he will be coming to NYC with a large selection of mouthpieces and barrels on Tuesday May 11 and Wed May 12. Contact him (clark@clarkwfobes.com) for details or to make an appointment. It is a great opportunity to try some equipment from one of the top craftsmen.

Don't forget to bring your Eb clarinet and try out his Eb clarinet extension.

I have an eflat extension that Clark made and it is awesome! It smoothes out the middle register, helps with intonation throught the instrument and really improves the sound of my R13 Eflat. I played it recently on the Ravel Piano Concerto and several weeks of the the Wicked natioinal tour with great pleasure!

My Yamaha Eb 681 with it's Fobes extention received a "very nicely done" comment from our orchestra conductor just this last weekend--and that's a compliment rarely afforded the little clarinet. The extention, as Chet noted, really smooths out the transition over the "break"--even for my Yamaha that was pretty even to begin with--but also mellows out the upper register making it, as a local university professor likes to characterize, "less like Holloween". LOL. In any case, the Fobes extention really does work to make the Eb clarinet a more musical instrument and I also highly recommend it.

I just bought a grenadilla Eb extension and have been using it all week playing Till. Its fantastic and I love it!!!!! Highly recommended!
