I used to play GG and later pomarico -1 facing mouthpieces. They have very good tuning characteristics. I found them to be resistant but they produced a beautiful sound. I found lighter reeds to work better,ie. light vandoren 3.5s and 3s.

Hehe it seems everytime I answer someone post, it seems to be related to mouthpieces and I bring up Pomarico. love Pomarico soo much. I dont like crystal mouthpieces in general much, but i have a pomarico one which i dont use anymore. they are by far the best value and quality crystal mouthpieces around. I do find them to be a little sharp though. The ebony wood pomaricos are praiseworthy. I love them to death. I wouldn't be where I am now without them. The tuning with them is exellent, they help produce a lovely tone and are just very comfortable to play on. I wish Pomarico had stayed a secret because I think if everyone had one, everyone would be a professional player :P

Nick,
You weren't born in Warracknabeal, were you? There's a famous "Nick" from there who's made quite a few recording, but last I looked that "Nick" was living in San Paulo.

I like the Pomarico mouthpieces also --- I use a crystal one on soprano clarinet (with an ebony one as backup!), and I also use a crystal Pomarico on bass clarinet. Be aware that I have refaced all of these mouthpieces to a certain extent, so they're not exactly 'stock out of the box'. Nice mouthpieces, and reasonably priced.

Mark,
nah sorry that's not me. lol... I'm about to turn 18 and I'm definately from Australia. I haven't done solo recordings but I've done a few orchestral recordings with symphony orchestras and wind symphonies.

Looking at your email address I thought Nick Cave (another Aussie) was sneaking in - but I never heard Nick playing a clarinet 8^)
