 Francaix Concerto - Dimitri Ashkenazy
Author: col

The CD of Dimitri playing the Francaix with Christoph Mueller conducting the Cincinnati Orchestra. what does everyone think / impressed ? I find it technically very fluent but lacking in excitment.
Incidentally the reason behind ording this cd is that i heard a recording on the classical radio station of Dimitri playing the Francaix with his father conducting and im sure it was the cincinnati orchestra playing - but it was a live concert recording and it was amazing, far better than the cd, has anyone heard him play in a live performance or heard of this recording with his father conducting.

I have a CD of Philippe Cuper playing the Francaix, Neilsen, and Copland. His playing is very impressive especially on the Francaix. I have not heard a recording of the artist you mentioned, though I certainly have heard of him.
