I recently tested out some Legere Signature reeds. After reading many posts, most of them have said that it takes time to make the reeds work. So I took time and tried to adjust to Legere, but not with enough success to make me happy. The altissimo register squeeked like crazy, even after my embrouchure adjusted to it quite a bit.
Now I'm back on cane (Gonzalez FOF) but the problem is...the same thing is happening as it did on the Legere. My altissimo is completly out of wack. Whenever I play in altissimo it gives me many frequent squeeks. Will it get adjusted back, is it my instrument, or is there just something that has happenned to cause these squeeks?

I loved FOF's for the constant consistency of them and the long life they produced. But, unfortunately I did find the high register to be extadordinarily bright to my liking. The low register sounded amazing, but that high register I just could not deal with. What mouthpiece are you on?

I'm using a Grabner Kaspar K13*. I've tried V12's and regular blue box Vandorens but I prefer Gonzalez over both.
What reeds are you using now?

Ahh yes, sorry, forgot to mention that SINCE I left the Grabner to try out other mouthpieces and eventually get my new one, I noticed it was brighter. However, my old Grabner K11 loved FOF's. I'm currently using Rico Reserves.
Have you checked to see there are no leaks on the instrument or any chips on the mouthpiece facing? Could be somethings there, otherwise I'm out of ideas heh.
