A fellow clarinetist who owns and plays Artie Shaw's Buffet Clarinet from the last years of the Gramercy Five, has asked me to inquire as to whether anyone has any "Artie Shaw recordings live from the Old Gold Shows and interesting memorabilia??"
He has become an authority on Artie Shaw and an avid collector.
If this venue for a request like this is not appropriate, I will understand and resend.
Thanks,
Mel Lazin

Hi Mel. this BBoard IS one of the best for inquiring about A S. I've been a devotee ever since I heard him play way back in the 1930's. I illadvisily loaned my several 33's for copying an never got them back ! But I have several old 78's in "storage" and will be hppy to unearth them. If you have song titles desired, you might let me know. prob. by E M. OK GBK? . Don
Thanx, Mark, Don

Here's a source of some of Shaw's radio broadcasts:

I wish that more of the "Melody and Madness" shows that featured Artie Shaw and Robert Benchley would surface. Is that the Old Gold series you meant?
