Buffet R13 Serial Number

Could anyone advise me on the age of a recent R13 purchase.
The serial number is 33688

It dates from around 1947. See http://www.woodwind.org/clarinet/Equipment/HowOld/Buffet.html. This is well before the introduction of the polycylindrical-bore R13 in late 1954 and early 1955.

It was Buffet's top model at the time. If it's not too badly worn and has not had the bore tampered with, it could be an excellent instrument.

I have just paid £200 for it plus shipping and customs.
It looks fantastic, no cracks, key work very nice and nickel, I'm just about to get it re padded and cleaned.

I also own a 15 year old R13 which I purchased after leaving the army, I love the instrument, it will be interesting if it sounds that much different.
