On the Oboe list, I found a very funny obnoxious conductor/orchestra's revenge sketch at:

Thanks a million! That's a very young Kenneth Williams conducting, and an even younger Jim Dale playing the trombone. I didn't recognise him at first. It was his voice that gave him away.

Kenneth Williams was famous in the 50s on radio and later in the Carry On films. He could play every character from the most snobbish aristocrat to a complete idiot.

could have been titled "carry on at music college"....I see the whole gang except simon sparrow (aka Dirk Bogarde). It also had a young Jill Ireland in the cast.

Just to be picky - Simon Sparrow was a character in Richard Gordon's "Doctor in the House" and spin offs. I can't remember Dirk Bogarde in the "Carry On" team.

Though some of the Carry On team were in the Doctor series too.
