John, Just wondering, do you like classical music? You seem focused on other genres.

The amusing minor misspelling in John's subject line gave me an idea for a new type of attire:
Hava Negligee!
Think it will sell?
Sorry, no clarinet content.

Not busting on you, John -- keep the great posts coming! (And keep playing all kinds of music.)
In the engineering world where I spend my days, we're notorious for bad spelling and grammar, to the point where it's believed by some that the worst the speller, the better the engineer.
Still, I'm thinking of getting into the lingerie business with the idea...... I'll give you a cut of the profits since you came up with the theme.

A bit of a different perspective on Texas, no?
There are about 130,000 Jewish Texans, which doesn't make them a huge percentage of the statewide population, but for many years, many of our most important and respected citizens, including many business and political leaders, have been Jewish.
Dallas (which has had 3 Jewish mayors) is home to Temple Emanu-el, which is the largest synagogue in the southwest. Composers Samuel Adler and Simon Sargon have both served as music directors there. Aaron Copland's mother grew up in Dallas and considered herself a Texan, and her cousin Stanley Marcus, founded the famous Neiman-Marcus department store here.
The current Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives is Jewish.
And of course, Kinky Friedman is from Texas, too....

I have to admit I thought this was shear Schlock. They screwed up a few different styles and didn't say anything. Actually, I was quite surprised that this wasn't done by a major symphony orchestra doing anything to half fill a hall.

Any way of making a Yamuka (forgive my spelling) look more like a cowboy hat?

Who are these folks?
That clarinet solo - I was waiting for ornamentation that never happened.
And their "ch" (like in "Bach") sounds like a "k" ("uru akim" - sic).
But they were having some kind of fun, in boom-tap heaven. The electric fiddle playing was very clean.

The clarinettist at the beginning is a classical player, and didn't even suggest Jewishness to my ear...what do you think Tom, Ralph and John?
