I've been dealing with someone near me and after going through their garage I stumbled upon a metal Clarinet made by Noblet serial number 7103 or z103. I honestly thin it's a '7' but I'm not sure.
it's in great condition and has a great shine on it. I know most people don't like them But I'm particular to these horns as they look cool.
I was wondering if anyone on here knew how old this horn could be and what it could be worth?

There's quite a bit of info and photographs of French metal clarinets on the website:http://www.clarinette-metal.fr/galerie_de_photos.htm I think Google will even translate the text for you, but its not that hard to catch the drift of what they're describing. As to worth, put a couple metal Noblets on ebay in your watchlist and see what they bring. I think there's also a way (in advanced search?) to bring up "completed auctions" over the past year or so. The search function on this (Clarinet BB) site will also turn up hundreds of mentions of Noblet metal horns. Good Luck, and FYI they not only look cool, but play cool too.! Clark

Thank you Mr. Sherwood
I have sent an email to that site requesting information or help in tracking down an estimate date of manufacture based on the Serial Number.
I hope I get a response.. even after murdering the French language.. I shoudl have paid more attention in class. lol

Well I gave in and went ahead and bought it from her.
she wanted $150.00 for it.
I gave her $70.00
was this a good buy?
I mean I know it's going to cost me a penny to get it fully functional.
I have basic Instrument Repair Skills and my fortes are Clarinets and Flutes so I think i'll be able to save a buck or two.

Your new Noblet looks in pretty good shape, so would have brought $100 -$150 on the online auction site, especially if the Rovner lig came with it! The ones with a 'raised diamond' logo (earlier?) are worth a little more than those with a 'square' or 'level or flush with the surface diamond". Noblet made them clear up into the 1960's, I think. Have fun, Clark
