Another clarinet player who made good.
Add him to the list with Woody Allen, Alan Greenspan, and Hal Linden.

Have any of you ever heard Peter Graves play the clarinet? I haven't. The Washington Post's photo of him playing as a soloist with the Marine Band makes me think he must've been pretty good, even though this was one of those gala occasions where the entertainment isn't necessarily ready for prime time.
My earliest memory of him isn't "Mission Impossible;" it's a kids' show, "Fury" (about a boy and his black stallion) from the 1950s. Graves played the boy's tough-minded but good-hearted father. I loved his send-up of his macho roles in "Airplane."

Good find Larry. You never know who really wanted to be a clarinet player but had to settle for something else. It's tough getting a good job playing the clarinet. I guess he did OK though in his alternate career. ESP
