Anyone use a muncy synthetic diamond barrel?
Author: Megham

I have purchased an r13 greenline and while it seems reasonably tuned to itself it seems to play consistently flat. From browsing the forum the solution seems to be a shorter barrel. I am looking for reasonably priced synthetic barrels and have happened upon the Muncy barrels. Does anyone have experience with these? I would be very interested in your opinion. I plan to try up to three of different lengths to see what works best for tuning. Thanks for your help. Also, I would appreciate your recommendations for other reasonably priced synthetic barrels.

I have not played the Muncy, although I have played other barrels of his and they are good. I would also consider the barrels by Robert Scott.

I have been considering getting some in other lengths as a good lower cost option.

I use one on an R-13 and on a Yammy YCL 52; both are great.

I haven't used the Muncy synthetic, but I do like the results I got with the grenadilla Buffet/Muncy barrel on an older Evette horn. I Bought by barrel from Walter Grabner.

Thanks everyone, that really helped. I think I will try both a Scott and Muncy barrels and pick what works best for me. The Scott barrel was recommended to me by Dr. Spring as well since it is what he uses so I am eager to give it a try. I just hadn't heard any reviews on the Muncy so wasn't sure if they were really worth my time. Thanks again for the help!

Oh, I am also pretty sure the Muncy doesn't have any visual sparkle, but perhaps there is an auditory one. LOL.
