Hi Everyone. Just wondering where my 1952 Leblanc Noblet 45 Laurete stands in ratings of professional to student? If anyone can help me, I would surely appreciate it. Thanks

Aren't Noblet Laureates usually announced in autumn?

Conventional wisdom on this BB is that the Noblet 45 is a "high-end intermediate" while the 40 is an "intermediate". This is based on original selling price for the most part, although the left pinky keys have a 'lift' linkage rather that the 'pinned' linkage common to pro models, and this is a determining feature to some experts. Personally, I think a well set up 45 plays as well as my 'pro' clarinets, and it seems that all my 'student' metal clarinets have 'pinned' left pinky linkages! Enjoy your 45, its a fine horn. Is the ' laureate', the one with the cool engraving on the bell??

Yes, it has the engraving on the bell. The interesting thing is that the original receipt is in the box and it dates it to 1952 and it sold for $299 and that was quite a lot of money in those days and I am wondering when Leblanc started making those particular clarinets. It is in the 4,000 serial range and I think they made 2-3 thousand a year so I am thinking it must have been around 1951?
