Wurlitzer Reform-Boehm mpc

This is out of curiously, but has anyone had experience in purchasing a Wurlitzer reform-Boehm mouthpiece by way of mail order from Wurlitzer themselves?

Or are there outlets (say, in Europe) that stock their mouthpieces and are available to sell them on to overseas customers?

Aussie players Phil Green (NZSO) and James Fry (APO) have both done this I believe.

Hello mks,

You can order your mouthpiece directly to H. Wurlitzer without problems, specifying the model, and what clarinet is for.

Note that your H. Wurlitzer Reform Boehm mouthpiece maybe only will fit well with a H. Wurlitzer Reform Boehm clarinet.

There are some shops that sell H. Wurlitzer mouthpieces, like

So I recommend you to order your mouthpiece to H. Wurlitzer, because you can ask for some special configurations for your needs.

Wurlitzer Clarinets America now stocks Wurlitzer Reform-Boehm mouthpieces and ships globally.

The newer line mouthpieces are some of the finest I have played. Of particular interest was the 3WZ model, which takes V12s.

Dear Eric Seddon,

Aren't the tenons of the Wurlitzer Reform Boehm mouthpieces identical to that of the Oehler clarinets? That is, the tenon is much larger, built to fit into the larger socket of the Oehler barrel which is NOT compatible with US Boehm standards.

You're correct, Paul, the tenons of Wurlitzer Reform-Boehm mouthpieces are larger than French Boehm clarinets. I'm not sure how they compare to Oehler sockets and mouthpieces made especially for those horns, but it is true that an R-B mouthpiece will not fit a standard French barrel.

I have, in the past, sanded some of the tenons down to fit my old Fritz's (the barrel sockets of which are slightly smaller than current model 185s.) It didn't take much, but I'm not sure how the Fritz's compare to French barrels.
