 who wants colors?
Author: Dave

I was just browsing e-bay when I stumbled upon this... http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=520301254

it's called a bonet, I've never seen or heard of them. I remember a few threads back people were talking about colored clarinet and the name brought up quite often was the vito dazzler... Do I get a cookie since I found one that isn't a dazzler and still colored? Well I'd certainly like to hear if any of you buffs on the board know what the word on the street is bout this horn. Dave

There was an off white model with gold keys Vito made for Pete Fountain that was made into special presentation lamps. A scant few of these ended up on the market and looked pretty good.

I wondered about that one too, Dave. Had *no* idea who Bonet was/is. Looks like the 'paint(?)' is chipping.
Also looks like Willie answered the question but...
help yourself to some extra cookies anyway
:]

No this is NOT a Vito. The Vitos are made by Leblanc and are a plastic with the coloring (or dye) an integral part of the plastic material. It won't come off. This Bonet is an entirely different make of clarinet (the keywork is the telling thing) and is PAINTED.

The Pete Fountain models I refered to had gold colored keys and "Vito" big as life on the bell. I'm not totally sure, but I think Bonet may be one of those new Chineese horns that are sporting French and German names.
