Was going through a box of cassettes (remember those), that have been around for a few years, and i found a recording of the Mozart C minor serenade. Unfortunately it doesnt work anymore, but i remember I really liked this recording A friend of mine duped it from a record he had, probably twenty years ago.
I remember the clarinetist on the recording is Harold Wright, and Larry Combs. If I remember correct, it did not list on the album jacket who played first and who played second.
Anyone know who was sitting where for that recording?

It is a wonderful recording and well worth seeking out. The personnel on it was:
Oboe- John Mack, Joseph Turner,Clarinet- Harold Wright, Larry Combs, Bassoon- Joyce Kelley, William Winstead, Horn- Myron Bloom, Richard Solis, Conducted by Alexander Schneider
If I recall correctly, the clarinets were reversed on the album listing. It may have been listed alphabetically.

Unfortunately, in that compilation, for some reason Sony has the Marlboro Winds recordings of the Beethoven and Dvorak, but the Mozart is with Zuckermann and players from the LA Phil.

Thanks for the link Ken.
Ed- So how did they work that out? A coin toss maybe? Or maybe a hand of poker.

Thanks for that link.
For info- the other CD with the Beethoven and Dvorak (both very fine recordings) has the following personnel:
Beethoven-Octet For Winds, Op. 103
Alfred Genovese, Earl Schuster, Harold Wright, Richard Lesser, Anthony Checchia, Roland Small, Myron Bloom, Richard Mackey, Conducted by Marcel Moyse.
Dvorak-Serenade In D Minor, Op. 44
Alfred Genovese, Earl Schuster, Harold Wright, Richard Lesser, Anthony Checchia, Roland Small, Myron Bloom, Christopher Earnest, Richard Mackey, Dorothy Reichenberger, Raymond Benner. Conducted by Louis Moyse.
Unfortunately, some of the discs are somewhat lacking in liner notes or personnel listings.

I know this recording well. It was Wright on first and Combs on second. No doubt about it.
