Certainly plays with a lot more feeling than some trumpet players I know of!

This Toyota robot kicks Asimo's ar$e! Wonder why it hasn't gained as much airtime as Asimo in the UK? Azimo seems to get all the credit for a bipedal robot but doesn't play trumpet, tuba or drums (the less said about playing violin, the better!).
Then again it demonstrates you don't have to be a genius to play a brass instrument, and some brass players are far more robotic in their playing than this robot (and this robot doesn't bulge notes either).
And it's good they kept the human element to a minimum, otherwise when you put two of them together they'll probably try to outdo each other like most trumpet players - no 'higher, louder, faster' with these ones.
I'd definitely like to hear it play the last movement of the Hummel concerto in the way John Wallace plays it!

I also want to hear that robot do 'Sunset' - I reckon a lot of trumpet players could learn something from it.
Have a good Christmas!

But, Chris P, Asimo conducted the Detroit Symphony last year, so s/he's probably moved up the evolutionary scale a bit.

Asimo is a bit too cocky for my liking, and that attitude will only end in tears: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PMw023nS48&feature=related
Hope Toyota get a robot sax quartet together before Asimo learns to play 'Three Blind Mice' on a glockenspiel.
