This clarinet is interseting..There are metal rings on the two upper joints of the clarinet.

Can anyone tell sth about this clarinet?

Thanks.

The keywork on tbhe upper joint looks a lot like an older Amati clarinet (Corton, Lafleur, B&H 400 etc.) - but they were Czechoslovakian and not Italian.

The keywork on the lower joint (that's made in Italy) isn't Amati, so it could be a hybrid - either the upper or lower joint has been swapped or replaced to make a complete clarinet. It could even be made up from four different instruments as none of the sections look like a whole - the bell is made of ebonite (although the older Amatis did usually have ebonite bells), the lower joint is Italian, the upper joint is Czechoslovakian and the barrel looks like a B&H Edgware.

The opinions I express are my own.

My thoughts exactly (except from the barrel about which I didn't really ponder a lot)

That's the difference between such a clarinet and a mutt - the latter has only two parents, usually. [tongue]
