Candace -
Have you taken it to a local music store or repair shop for an opinion?
What shape is it in?
Its value depends somewhat on its present condition.
Can you describe it in a little more detail?

http://www.boosey.com/Instruments/Service/FrameTipsMoreChoice.htm
The Boosey and Hawkes site returns a manufactured date of 1952 for s/n K2231.
The Master Models were pretty good players (I have one from 1962 that I play every day), and some of there other intermediate horns were not bad.
A couple of things to keep in mind;
The lumber selection in the 1940's - 1950's was better, more old trees were used.
The influence of RC was about the time this was built.
Shiny keys are nice, but not much influence on playing.
Any cracks in the wood? That can definitely affect value, but a good repair can keep it playable.
Are the pads fresh? They should be bright in color. Green rings or mildew indicate a repad is in order - figure $100 at a minimum.
Bottom line, in good condition somewhere between $200 and $400 at sale.
The more recognized models grab the glory.
As Kenny G so aptly demonstrates, the biggest names are not necessarily the best players.

Those that I have seen, worked on and played have been good clarinets, some players describe them as R 13's under a diff. name [and lower price, possibly with less expert-tuning]. Have it put in top shape and try it out as suggested above and elsewhere in our Phorum. Luck, Don

Candace,
I visited some web places this morning - including eBay.
Then - - - had trouble eMailing; (kept getting disconnected from my ISP). Had trouble with History (it's blank).
Uggghhh! computers are not among my best friends...
Anyway, what I 'remember' is... that a *ball park figure* for a Buffet Schaffer (Master Model) would be in agreement with Anji's message above - around $200 to $500 - depending on the instrument's present condition and how bad a prospective buyer wants it.
Dust it off, start at $600 and see how far you get :]
