Do a search here on "Lyrique" and you will fond any number of us whjo have been quite favorably impressed and own at least one of them. I have the Bb and am waiting for tom to develop an eefer.
I really like mine. It has a great tone and wonderful intonation and scale to it. Got it right at Christmas last year. Sort of a present to myself.

I just got one of his C clarinets and it plays way better than the buffet RC prestige it replaced. Sold the buffet had ended up with a great clarinet had money leftover for an auralex sound booth and an apogee ensemble. I think that low C a joint might be in my future. Tom Puwalski

I think they're a great replacement. And there seems to be a good consistency between clarinets. Meaning you might have to try 5, 10, 20, or any other number of wooden clarinets in order to find that very well-playing one. For the lyrique, each one is fine-tuned by Tom Ridenour himself, and due to the extra attention each gets from a great technician, each one plays very well.
He also stands behind his instruments, and if you find something wrong with it, you can communicate with him and have it fixed. For example, the horn I bought was great, but I developed a tuning chart and sent it back to him with notations on the ones that were higher or lower than the center of pitch, and just how many cents sharp/flat. I also notated which were fuzzy and not as clear. It cost a little extra than just buying it straight from him with one shipping cost, but for the price of the lyrique plus about an extra hundred bucks (at the time), I now have an instrument where every note is within a few cents of each other, and all the notes play with the almost the exact same resistance (VERY important in my book). I use it for everything, and it works well for everything. I just wish he'd make 'em with an alternate Eb key standard.

Jeff Albrecht was so good as to let mey try his Ridenour Bb, and it is a good instrument, but that day, I still liked my Brannenized R13 Bb better.
But is it really fair to compare a $3500 instrument to a $1200 instrument? The Ridenour is a great deal, if it meets your needs.
