I have recently experienced terrible customer service from WWBW.com and am curious if anyone else has had a similar experience?
They basically charged me three times for the same reed order, and then were rude about it when I called to complain. They even went so far as to tell me "I can't transfer you to a manager!" and get this "That's what happens when you use a debit card!" - I mean c'mon...
Of course this will eventually get taken off my account, and I'll just continue to order reeds from somewhere else.
Can anyone share similar experiences with them? I'm considering a Better Business Bureau complaint...

yes i had problems with them some time ago and cant even remember the exact situation now. I made a post about it on here at the time. I do know I had a hard time getting my credit and had to keep follwing up on it. its been over a year since I did business with them and I will NOT do business with them again.

I have heard some issues about WWBW and that is kind of the reason they have gone down hill I believe with most people - is because of their poor customer service. Now you want good prices and great customer service. I would definitely go with MuncyWinds. They gotta be some of the nicest people to talk to on the phone and order stuff from. Never have had a problem with them yet.

Clarimeister my experience is that WWBW has not customer service at all something you can't say about Weiner music where you get fantastic and personal service(just finished ordering from them).

Don't forget about MUNCY!!!! Best place to buy I've dealt with so far. I'd buy groceries from them if they offered it.

Iceland: I agree with you. I have ordered from weinermusic before and also have never had a problem with them. However I prefer Muncy just because their shipping prices are lower and typically get here faster for me other than weiner. But, you better believe I go to Weiner if I can't find something at Muncy. Both are fantastic IMO.

I too stopped using WWBW after I had a bad experience ordering from them. Also, having worked in customer service type settings, I am really shocked that they refused your request to transfer you to a manager or refund your money that was obviously their error--that is just asking for people to get angry and stop using them.

Really the only time I ever visit WWBW's site is just to read reviews on items. Even then, these boards are better off giving reviews that wwbw. :P

Thanks everyone for your comments. I went ahead and made a better business bureau complaint. But it looks like Muncy and Weiner just got all my business - and my students' business as well.
Thanks,

When it comes to reeds I've had great service from Dean Foster at Prowinds.
A great teacher gives you answers to questions
you don't even know you should ask.

Whenever I order from Weiner Music, I always call first, ask for Sharon and have her check the inventory for what I may be ordering. Items that are running low or are out of stock may not always say so on the web site.
It only takes a minute to call them toll free and check on their current inventory.
Then, if they have what you need, order it from their website.

^Ditto. When I ordered my trial for the CF+ Fobes mouthpieces from Muncy I called to place an order and sure enough the mouthpiece is so popular they were waiting for shipment from Clark, but didn't take that long thankfully. But I always love talking to people at Muncy Winds because they are always helpful and very nice.

Weiner is horrible. I used to deal with them for twenty years. I ALWAYS had to keep on top of them about crediting my credit card on returns. I lived with that, because I had grown accustomed to the nonsensical business practice. But when they banged me on shipping charges for mouthpieces that I returned, even though I kept well over $200 worth of merchandise from the original order, I decided it was time to go elsewhere. I have dealt with Muncy, and WWBW, have not had any problems with either.
I am surprised to hear glowing reviews of Weiner. Virtually everyone I know around here have had bad experiences with them, and go to other sources for supplies.

Salzo this is just my first order with Weiner and the experience is good. I've ordered maybe 4 times or so from wwbw with bad experience each time. Like I ordered some stuff and the ATG system was among the things but it was always on backorder(I later discovered it was because of their strict pakage rule they had for their suppliers) then they keept the money I payed for it for like 4 months and I wrote them not very happy and the only thing was to cancel it and order later when it would be in stock and pay another 30-40$ for shipping.

Iceland-
Thanks for the heads up on WWBW- I have ordered from them a half dozen times, and have not had a problem YET.
If you are looking to try out mouthpieces, barrels, etc, from Weiner, make sure you factor shipping into the price. Many places have a free shipping policy over a certain amount- try some mouthpieces, return what you do not like, and if your order is over the set 'free shipping" price after the returns, you get free shipping. Not Weiner. I ordered four barrels, kept two, and they banged me for shipping on the original order because I returned two of the barrels-$15 to boot, and an additional fee that was not in their barrel trial policy. In the end, it cost me $25 to try four barrels, and keep two of them.
There are so many other companies that have better trial policies, that type of aggravation is unecesary.

Salzo the free shipping does no apply to me (at least for tryout but I got free shipping now from Weiner because I asked them to send it to a hotel in New York where my parents are staying over the weekend)because it's only available in the 48 USA states not to Iceland.

I have used WWBW and experiences are "ok" I have used Weiner much more recently. Though I was irked by the restocking fee for a mouthpiece that they said would fit in my contra that did nto fit. Oh well I will still probably use them . I might even start ordering from Muncy also.
Does any remember International Music that used to have a catalog. I really liked them for a while.
