Someone gave me a link to their site on another thread and I have been looking into this program. its sounds really good. its done online. you can earn a certificate - the highest being a Masters Certificate which they say is = to a Bachelors Degree. It will take about 2 1/2 years to complete. It sounds great if I had $10,000 to do it.
anyone know of how I can get money for education without going the student loan route?

Might have something on paper, but class-learning is hardly what I look for in a music program. It's about people, about personal interactions and explorations. Online may work for music history, but I'd say that's about it.

It's been my experience, working at a college, that there are many online "institutions of higher learning" which offer degrees that are worth nothing except their weight in toilet paper. This includes a number of the "big" national places that offer both online instruction and campus instruction. They are private schools, charge a fortune, and teach their students next to nothing.
A case in point: In the Detroit area, there is a famous private school that advertises on the air, over the Internet, and just about everywhere else. They started out offering short, "intensive" classes that were supposed to teach you everything you would learn in a semester of regular college over the course of about 5 weeks. Several students had "attended" this place and had taken their highest level college writing course, passing with A grades. Tey came to our school and had to take the placement exam to register. Both tested into the lowest level of our developmental (formerly remedial) English classes. These classes were at the level below standard college Freshman English classes! They are designed to accommodate students who never received a proper education dealing with college-level (or even high-school level) writing. Yet they had paid HUNDREDS of dollars more per credit hour than we charge at our "lowly" school, which has an excellent reputation, locally and nationally.
Caveat Emptor! I'm not saying that the school you are considering is crooked, but be sure to investigate it EXTREMELY carefully before committing to send them any money. Better safe than sorry!
