Can anyone suggest a forum or website that might be able to help me?
My daughter was given a Bb clarinet from a lady in her 80's. Said she got it used as a young girl. It has Kohlert Bixley stamped on the barrel and upper joint - Made in Germany - Serial number 83070. Having trouble identifying when it was made. Fairly certain the bell and mouth piece have been replaced. The women claimed it was a wood clarinet but it does not look like wood to me. If anyone can help me I'm trying to determine did we stumble on something worth getting overhauled and played? Could it be wood?
Thank you.

It could be hard rubber ?
is it discolored compared to the bell/barrel or other wood clarinets ?
It could also be a german bore clarinet, which are fine, just not the common "french" bore clarinets that 99%+ of people use here in the US.
I'm not familiar enough with Kolherts to comment on it's overall value in respect to get overhauled. But if you plan on overhauling it to play it, then it could be worth it - also depends on how good of match the replacement bell and barrel are.
