It is with a truly heavy heart that I share with you that the clarinet world has lost one of its finest, Conrad Josias. While Connie never aspired to be a Stanley Drucker, he epitomized the "amateur" clarinetist which so many of of are. Over the years, I have had the honor and privilege of playing with Connie in the Pomona Concert Band, the Claremont Winds, the Caltech/Occidental College Concert Band, and in the pit for the last grand musical presented by Caltech - Camelot. He also was a major contributor to "The Clarinet" journal of the ICA. His memorial service will be a 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 29, at Mt. Sinai Memorial Park (next to Forest Lawn) in the Hollywood Hills.

It's sad news as he was a nice man and a very good clarinet player. I saw him in gigs with Mary McKain's band(San Fernando Elks) and with the Covina city band. As I recall, he had a case for Bb, C, and Eb instruments. Thank you for this notice.
