List,
Is there anyone out there with printed Bb parts ( transposed from A Clarinet) for Tchaikovsky's 5th Symphony? I'm looking for both Clarinet 1 & 2 transposed to Bb.
Thanks in advance

I only know of some extracts in 'Difficult Passages' (published by B&H) for Bb and A at the same sounding pitch - though it will go down to low D#/Eb when played on Bb.

You really should do this on an A clarinet. If you're going to play in an orchestra, you need to have an A clarinet. There is so much material written for the A clarinet. It's worth the investment. ESP http://eddiesclarinet.com

I agree with Ed..you will also lose that half step at the bottow on the Bb clarinet unless you have the Eb flat lever mechanism on your Bb. I would also think some of the parts really tricky to play on the Bb clarinet transposition..possible but pretty tough!

Now's the time to bag a bargain A clarinet off eBay - I've seen several listed that I'd go for, but I don't really need any more A clarinets than I already have (although I wouldn't mind an A bass!).

I think this might be for a youth orchestra he conducts. I don't see it on his orchestra's schedule for this year.

I don't know what funding you may have for your youth orchestra, but could it stretch to investing in a pair of A clarinets?
