Hi
I'm looking for information about Buffet pad sizes, for Bb professional models like R13. This is for anyone who installed pads on a clarinet of this model, or has a clarinet like this and can measure the pads (to accuracy closest to the near 0.5mm):
What size are the pads for: F# ring key (smallest pad), Ab/Eb (smallest of the big low pads) and the e.g. A key (or any other of the same size which are most of the pads on the clarinet).
The reason to ask is for trying a new type of pad. I know the correct sizes for most pads except the smaller pad and Ab/Eb which I'm not sure about. I have one Buffet R13 clarinet to measure for comparison but I'm interested in more comparisons.
What I measured so far is that for a clarinet that has 9.5mm for most pads and 16.5mm for the biggest pads, then Ab/Eb is 14.5mm and the smaller pad is 9.0mm. The most common pads and the biggest pads are sometimes 9.0mm-10.0mm and 16.0mm respectively depending on the type of pad.
Thank you

Are these shouldered pads (like skin/GoreTex pads) or with parallel sides (like leather/cork/synthetic)?
On Buffets when using cork/leather pads, I use an 8mm for the small G vent pad, 9mm for all other top joint pads, 11mm for the C vent and cross B/F#, 13.5 for the Ab/Eb and 16mm for the largest.
