 Reed & Dark/Bright Sound
Author: TianL
Date:   2009-11-07 01:10

I've always had this question and I haven't been able to figure it out.. sometimes I have two reeds and on the same setup, but one would sound much brighter than the other.

Does anyone know which part of the reed is related to the brightness/darkness of the sound?

I have a chart on my webpage detailing what to do to what part of the reed to make it play brighter or darker but that will depend on the quality of the cane to begin with. Check it out. ESP http://eddiesclarinet.com
